Getting Back

We're back together again....at home!
And we are LOVING IT!

Katie's been home for 2 weeks and we are thrilled about the progress she is making.
Here she is showing off before school this morning. Just this week she started standing on her own. Balance sometimes is tricky but improves with each day.
Around the house she is using the walker. Also can take small steps on her own.
She uses the wheelchair at school but hopes to be done with that soon.
Katie is continuing physical therapy on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays. We found a really great place that we love. Tuesdays and Thursday are usually pretty rough between being so tired & in pain, but she continues to improve. It's been great for Katie to be back in school. She's able to go for the morning. Since Katie can walk with a walker around the house , Hudson or Sydney like to be in the wheelchair when it's empty. :)

We want to thank you for all of the cards, prayers, meals and things you have done in the last few months! It means so much to us.

Here's a few pictures to close out our time at Madonna:

The pool we used: practiced standing & arm strength

A few therapists from Madonna.
The Singing Balloon. It sang "Don't worry be Happy"
None of the nurses had even seen a singing balloon.

We got to meet an astronaut from Nebraska, Clayton Anderson, when we were at Madonna. The timing was great since Sydney and Hudson were there too. It was fun to meet him and get autographs from him in person.
Katie with her teacher at Madonna. She helped Katie with math and English in the mornings. Nova helped Katie get caught up.
We met some special new friends at Madonna including Amy and Gabi. It was always fun to see their faces coming down the hallway. To check out Gabi's story, click here.
With special Nurse Sara
Katie with her Aunt Jane. We REALLY appreciated all her visits, laundry service and special treats. Thanks for moving to Lincoln for us! :)
A sign some friends made when Katie came home. We had three people think Katie was a marine or new born baby; when we heard that we just smiled and said, "Sorry nope she was just sick".
Thank you for your prayers!!
God is definitely answering them in His perfect timing!
